Start up company EcoSync is developing a smart temperature control system using artificial intelligence. They have secured additional innovation funding from OxFutures to continue the development.

Ecosync’s technology helps businesses synchronise heating with occupancy levels. With the added control over the temperature settings, they can improve energy efficiency – avoiding empty rooms being heated. They are aiming, through innovative technology, to reduce the energy consumption and carbon footprint of buildings by 40 per cent, by stopping heating empty rooms.

EcoSync was awarded an innovation grant after applying to OxFutures for funding and were successful in being awarded a £13,000 initial grant and £7,850 extension grant to develop the next phase of the technology.

OxFutures started as a £3.2 million project to boost low carbon economic development in Oxfordshire. It is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and run through a collaborative partnership between the Low Carbon Hub, and Oxford Brookes University – who are also the project partners on Energy Solutions Oxfordshire, with the two projects working closely together to make energy efficiency simple and cost effective for Oxfordshire’s businesses.
